Offsite Backup vs. Toggle

OffSite Backups

Offsite backups are only as good as your Internet access. If your Internet is down, your backups are down.

Has two Internet connections with different ISP providers that toggle over to when the primary service is down.

Single point of failure.

When your system has a failure, Toggle Networks will automatically toggle over to the secondary system without any downtime.

Security Risk
Need to be 100% confident in off-site location.

We provide backup network hosting in a secure tier-1 data center with 24x7 monitoring, fire suppression, cooling, backup power and multiple Internet connections.

Offsite backups are only a recovery process. Your servers will be down until you can rebuild, reconnect to Internet, reinstall your software, and recover your data.

We provide Continuous Data Protection (CDP) with offsite replication of your system and not just your data. Therefore, when your server goes down, it automatically toggles over to the secondary servers, without any service interruptions.

Offsite backups only occur nightly.

With Continuous Data Protection (CDP) your system is backed up every second of every day.

Slow. As you grow, offsite backups of your entire system may not be possible. It can take hours to backup a few hundred megabytes.

With offsite replication and archival of your system, only changes are automatically backed up to the servers. As a result, backup times are significantly reduced.

Offsite backups typically occur during a limited time window to avoid effecting normal business operations. As a result, backing up your entire system may not be possible and will consume a majority of your Internet connection.

With Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technologies, recovering and backing up data in real-time throughout the day will have minimal impact on Internet performance.
